Write about your favourite Author (Class 6 to 12)

1. General Rules:

  • Eligibility: Class 6 to 12 Students
  • Theme: The essay should be about the participant’s favorite author, highlighting their works, writing style, influence, and personal connection to the author’s work.
  • Word Count: Should be between 500-1000 words.
  • Originality: The work should be the participant’s own writing, and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
  • Language: English, Hindi, or Malayalam. 
  • Deadline: November 30, 2024
  • Submission Format: Write in A4 size paper and send the scanned copy to the mail and physical copy to the Librarian
  • Judging Criteria: Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, writing quality, structure, and adherence to the theme.

2. Suggested Essay Format:

Title:

  • Your title should be relevant to your chosen author, e.g., "The Magic of J.K. Rowling's World" or "Why I Love Ernest Hemingway."

Introduction (Approx. 100-150 words):

  • Introduce your favorite author.
  • Provide some background information (e.g., name, nationality, literary genre, notable works).
  • State why you chose this author as your favorite.

Body (Approx. 300-600 words):

  • Author's Biography: Briefly summarize important details about the author’s life, career, and major achievements.
  • Notable Works: Highlight some of the most famous or influential books written by the author. You can explain how these works impacted literature, culture, or your own personal life.
  • Writing Style: Describe the author's writing style (e.g., narrative voice, themes, tone, etc.). Give examples of their unique traits.
  • Personal Connection: Discuss how this author has influenced you personally. Did their books change your perspective on certain issues, or did their writing inspire you to write?

Conclusion (Approx. 100-150 words):

  • Close with a final thought or reflection on what you learned from reading their works.

Optional:

  • References: If you cite any specific works, articles, or interviews about the author, include a list of references or citations at the end (usually if required).
