SUMMER READING CHLLENGE 2025

Aims and Objectives of the Summer Reading Challenge

  1. To promote reading
  2. To enhance literacy skills
  3. To encourage independent thinking
  4. To foster critical thinking

ACTIVITY I

READING DIARY

  1. Students should maintain a "Reading Diary" to document the reading activities, write review of the books you have read and to note other thoughts.
  2. Students should read Newspaper daily and take note and reflections on current events and news
  3. Diary should be submitted on school reopening for evaluation.
ACTIVITY II
POSTING ON PADLET

Students should share their reading experiences on dedicated Padlet links given below.

SUMMER READING CHALLENGE PADLET

EVALUATION OF READING DIARIES

A team of Teachers will review and select the best "Reading Diaries" from each student category.

Students who read maximum no. of books and maintaining best Reading Diaries will be appreciated.

BOOK BINGO ENTRY

Book Bingo is an activity designed to promote reading and make it more engaging for participants. It typically involves participants filling out a bingo card with various book-related challenges. Below are the key elements for organizing and implementing Book Bingo:

1. Objectives: Promote Reading, Introduce Variety in Reading Choices, Foster Friendly Competition

2. Target Audience: Class 6 to 12

  6. Final Evaluation

Book Reading Bingo (Classes 6 to 12)

              PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya Idukki is celebrating National Library Week from 14th November 2024 to 21st November 2024. A wide variety of fun filled and knowledge based activities are arranged for the Teachers, Students and the Parents.

1. Book Reading Bingo


Timed Challenge: Complete the bingo from November 14th , 2024 till 31st March , 2025

The objective is to complete a line, either:

  • Horizontally
  • Vertically
  • Diagonally
Recording Progress:
  •     Keep a book review of the books you read for each prompt and sign it from the Librarian
  • You can make your own Bingo Card also.
